Back in 1988, my Dad created Listen clothing with the intention of making fashionable, yet comfortable, casual wear. The brand's ethos was to deliver social and environmental messages in a tasteful and subtle way. Upon getting distracted with various other business ventures, he decided to close up operations a couple of years later. While he made the decision to put a pause on Listen, Dad continued to renew the "Listen" trademark. Throughout my schooling years, I always envisioned bringing the brand back to life. In 2019, I released my first new collection, re-invigorating the brand with a new identity.
In today's world, our attention is often overwhelmed by a wide variety of negative events that seem inescapable. But I am of the view that, in life, the universe gives you what you focus on. Listen has been created to draw your attention and focus on what's important to you: the environment, community, consciousness, relationships, and the simple joys of every day life.
Listen, we’re not saying you should ignore everything negative going on in the world around you. It's simply about paying attention to what's important and ignoring what's not. Listen raises awareness in the minds of our consumers through carefully crafted garments, boasting meaningful graphics and using bold and bright complimentary colour ways.
